I am David White, a Paramedic in Georgia. I have been married to my beautiful wife Sharee for 21 years and we have 3 children and 2 granddaughters..so far.
I developed a strong fascination of ECGs many years ago.
After sitting through the same old classes of just “STEMI” criteria and contiguous leads, I got the idea in my head that there had to be a way to “see” ischemia before an obvious occlusion were present. This was before the internet was in such widespread use and most education I could find was in expensive books. I came across Dr. Thomas Garcia and his book – 12 Lead ECG, The Art of Interpretation. This changed everything for me.
Soon after, I found Dr. Ken Grauer, Dr. Steven Smith and Dr. Amal Mattu. These true experts in interpretation is what changed my entire medical education and helped me to focus on the details and pattern recognition rather than blindly stumbling through a 12 lead.
My goal in this blog is to present complex ECGs and break them down into more bite sized chunks to more easily understand what is happening.
